“Standards of achievement are rising” at Ormiston Park  In Ormiston Park’s latest Ofsted report, due to be published tomorrow, inspectors have noted the significant progress that has been made at the school since the start of this academic year. Following a two day inspection, Ofsted noted that “teaching is improving” and “standards of achievement are rising” at Ormiston Park, with pupils praised for being “almost unfailingly polite, sociable and co-operative.” Overall the school has been classified in the Requires Improvement category, but inspectors identified “strong capacity” within the leadership team – which has been in place since September 2014 – to “drive forward rapidly the necessary improvements.” Speaking today, Principal Huw Derrick said: “It is my ambition to lead Ormiston Park to become an Outstanding Academy for the local community. “As the latest Ofsted report recognises, our new leadership team is already having a significant impact.  We still have a lot of work to do, but we are absolutely committed to driving improvement. “I look forward to continuing to build on the progress we have made across the rest of this academic year and beyond.”  Executive Principal, Julie Bloor, added:  “Every day it is our priority to deliver a fantastic education for students at Ormiston Park. “Working with teachers, Governors and the Leadership Team, we are united in our mission to achieve the highest standards and give students the best start in life.”  The full report is available for parents/carers to view here
